Our response to COVID-19

We are excited about Summer 2021 at all Summer Culinary Programs!


We strongly encourage everyone to get vaccinated! However our ATX location does not require vaccination, so if your chikld will not be vaccinated by the start of your session, then you must upload proof of a negative COVID test taken with 72 hours of your start date. Social distancing will be encouraged, and symptoms checks and temperatures will be taken every day by the health director. Hand – washing is encouraged frequently (which is always good for chefs anyway) and masks and sanitizer will be available at all times.

The health and safety of our students and staff is always our highest priority.  Our promise is to create a program that is safe, above all else.  After that comes our commitment to creating a fun environment; and we know that in a safe and fun environment that learning will occur in prodigious amounts!   

SC is committed to providing our summer programs in an environment that supports the health and well-being of all participants, while taking every appropriate action to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by adhering to the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), our university partners, and local health authorities. We want you to know that we will continue to monitor the situation related to COVID-19, along with the evolving public health guidelines and best practices related to hosting events and 2021 summer programs.

Tuition Refund Guarantee and Cancellation Policy

You can register for the 2021 campusNYC program with confidence! If we cannot deliver on our promise around safety, or if the program is cancelled for any reason, we would issue full and complete refunds. In addition, students may cancel their registrations for any reason by May 15, 2021 and receive a full refund including the deposit. If at any time Summer Culinary closes a program location, students may choose to attend another location, receive a full refund or pre-register for 2022.

Safety Updates in an Evolving Situation

The COVID-19 pandemic and public health guidelines are evolving on a daily basis. We are continuously monitoring the situation in preparation for the summer and we will communicate any updates or changes to our programs to enrolled students as quickly as possible. Comprehensive camp policies and procedures related to COVID-19 will be posted to our website and sent to each family at least 30 days before the start of each session.

Student Safety During the Program

Inside of our commitment to student safety, we will adopt all reasonable and recommended best practices during the operation of our program.  All staff and students will be required to follow our safety rules, which may include the wearing of face masks, frequent handwashing, social distancing, testing, and any guidelines as may be reasonable and recommended by local and state governments. Specific protocols for our students and staff shall be established at each location in conjunction with our university partners.  Protocols will be based on the recommendations and requirements of the CDC and each of our host universities and the states in which they are located. 

Program Modifications

Our programs includes field trips and other journeys throughout your destination city. We will continuously monitor the viability of such trips along with the safety procedures related to group visits and we may make changes without notice to our programming as required to ensure the safety of all of our program participants. Changes will be posted to our website, as they may arise. 

Register early

Our expectation is to be sold out. Many of the students who were registered with us in Summer 2020 will be registering again for Summer 2021.  And given how things have gone for most families with distance learning and COVID-related social impact, we anticipate an extremely high demand for in-person academic enrichment programs such as ours.
